Everett Hawthorne, who was a Senior Agent and agent in Billings for many years has passed away at the age of 87. When the obituary is published, I will post it here, or by e-mail to Jake. Ev was a nice, but sometimes cantankerous, indvidual. I remember one time when we worked res at the station, some lady called wanting to know how much it cost to fly to Hawaii, and Everett, after having somewhat of a bad day already, just answered a thousand dollars, and hung up. BILLINGS GAZETTE (4/25/00) Thanks for info, Darrell, Do you have any FL info to add such as where & when he worked, positions held, photo maybe, etc. I'll get something put together for Obit page. Jake Lamkins (4/25/00) Hey al(Krauter), maybe you can help provide some info on everett. jake, as far as i know, everett only worked in billings. his obit says he worked for fl for 27 years, so that would make it from 1951-1978. he started out as an agent, and at some point, became a senior agent. i don't remember when he gave up the senior position, but he did step down to station agent. don't have any photos of him, and none was provided with the obituary. after he returned to station agent status, he was pretty much a permanent fixture in the ops room. he definitely did not like working the ticket counter. if i come up with anything more, i'll let you know. darrell Robson (4/25/00) jake, forgot, he usually went by everett. darrell Robson (4/25/00) Hi: All that I can remember was when I moved from Casper to Billings and that was in 69. I believe that he stepped down before that. Al Krauter (4/27/00)
